School Day

The day at the college begins at 8.45 am in your Form Room with registration each day.  This is when your Form Teacher
marks the roll and informs you about any daily notices that you need to know.

School Assemblies are held once a week.  On this day the bell times are different from those of the other days.

Stationery

Stationery lists are available from the Student Centre.  These give the requirements for all the courses at the different year levels.  The Student Centre stocks only a basic range of stationery for emergency needs.

College Canteen

The College operates a canteen which is open every day before school, at interval and lunchtime.  A wide variety of food and drinks is available.

 The Library

Our modernised library is the centre where students gather information.  It is well resourced with a wide range of books covering all curriculum areas, as well as fiction, magazines and other recreational reading.  Students can also access the internet.  Index New Zealand, a colour photocopier and a fax are available to help students in their studies.

 Health Matters

If you are unwell or have an accident that requires attention you must report to the Student Centre.  A trained staff member will assist you and if necessary contact home.

If you have an allergy or illness that requires you to take medication at school a small quantity of your supply should be kept at the Student Centre.

Leaving school during the day

If you have to leave school at any time during the day including lunchtime a note from home is required.  You must sign out at the Student Centre before you leave and sign back in on your return.

If you are being collected, it is requested that this is done in the foyer area of the College.  This is for your own safety and so that the school knows where you are in an emergency.

Transport

A majority of our students travel to the College by bus.  For the smooth operation of the buses please note the following points:

  • The driver is in complete charge of students during the journey.
  • If a student needs to travel on a bus, other than the one he or she uses regularly, a written request from home is required.
  • Eating or drinking on buses is not permitted.
  • Students are not permitted to leave a school bus in the township.
  • If you miss your bus do not wander off or hitch-hike.  You must report to the teacher on bus duty straight away and then come to the College Office, where you can ring and tell your parents where you are.

A staff member is appointed as the Bus Controller and any questions or problems should be directed to him/her.

Bus contact number:  Go Bus 07 828 7037.

For senior students who need to bring a vehicle to school, permission from the Deputy Principal is required.
