NZQA fees must be paid before mid-August. These are an administration fee imposed by NZQA – they are not a school fee and they are not an exam fee.  Students who do not pay their NZQA fee will not be able to access their achievement record on the NZQA website.  If fees are not paid by then it is likely that a “late payment fee” will be imposed by NQZA.

All Year 11-13 students will be taking NCEA qualifications and are required to pay a fee that is set by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) as follows:

All standards and up to 3 Scholarship subjects $76.70 per candidate
Each additional Scholarship subject $76.70 per subject

(Please note, the fees quoted are 2018 amounts.  We have not yet been notified whether they will be the same for 2019.)

Your student’s NZQA fees need to be paid to the school by mid-August.  This was because we are required to pay the fees to NZQA by early September.

Cheques should be made payable to Te Kauwhata College.  If you do not pay the College on time you will have to pay NZQA directly.  Late payments may incur a $50.00 fee which is charged by NZQA.

Students seeking financial assistance were required to complete a Financial Assistance Application Form and return it to the Student Centre.  An application form can be found below, or on the NZQA website at: www.nzqa.govt.nz/financialassistance

Please note, applications for Financial Assistance cannot be accepted after mid-August.

To qualify for financial assistance parents/caregivers must meet one of the following conditions:

  • Be receiving a Work and Income or StudyLink benefit or have a Community Services Card,
  • Have joint family income that qualifies for a Community Services Card, or,
  • Have two or more children entered as candidates with fees more than $200.

If you qualify for financial assistance then the fees are $20 for one child or $30 per family of two or more children.

An examination timetable can be found at www.nzqa.govt.nz/qualifications-standards/qualifications/ncea/ncea-exams…
